Can Having a Slow Computer Affect Your Broadband Internet Speed?

A lot of people invest their time, money and effort into getting the best computer they can get and at the end of the day they find it difficult to know what is the source of their slow internet connection problem – they’re confused as to whether it is their internet that sucks or their computer. It can be really difficult deciding which one isn’t effective if your computer isn’t good and a very common question I see asked in regards to this is how having a slow internet connection can really affect one’s broadband internet speed. I’ll be doing my best to answer that question in this blog post and I hope by the time you finish reading this you will have a better understanding of what to do.

Computer or Internet

It’s just like asking the question, foundation or building. We all know that every building has a foundation and without the foundation the building will never strive. The same thing goes to having a better computer. It doesn’t matter how fast your broadband internet is and it doesn’t even matter if you’re using the last broadband internet connection your computer is the foundation of your internet usage. You can’t access the internet without a computer so you should do your best to ensure your computer is always in good form.

How to Ensure Your Computer is in Good Form Always

Now that you know the importance of having a robust system in order to ensure better internet usage below are some tips on how you can ensure your computer is always active and in good form.

1. Always Have an Up to Date Antivirus: The first step towards ensuring the security and stability of your computer is to always ensure you have a solid antivirus and that you always keep it up to date. Viruses can destroy your computer and make it slow and ineffective no matter how robust it is, you can quickly prevent this by having a solid antivirus system installed on your computer.

2. Check for Outdated Hardware: The next step towards ensuring your computer is secure and stable is to make sure you have the latest hardware. This includes your computer hard disk, broadband modem, the right cables and other important components. Outdated computers can be very easy to hack but having the right and updated hardware will prevent you from being hacked.

3. Check for Outdated Software: This is the worst part. Outdated computer software applications can be very deadly especially for someone who is making use of the internet regularly. Always make it a duty to ensure your software applications are up to date. You should also do your best to make sure not just anybody touches and installs applications on your computer – only make use of a certified and trusted engineer.

4. Increase Your Computer Memory: If your computer is becoming more slow and irresponsive these days it might also be as a result of the poor memory it has. Take your computer to an engineer to help you fix and upgrade your RAM memory and you will notice great speed and stability.
