Code 42 Software introduced CrashPlan PRO backup software for SMB
Code 42 Software – the developers of CrashPlan and CrashPlan PROe, backup software for home and enterprise, announced the immediate availability of CrashPlan PRO, a new cloud backup service for the SMB market. CrashPlan PRO provides an enterprise-grade, cross-platform backup solution for both desktops and laptops used by customers such as Apple, Google, Adobe, Groupon, and LinkedIn, but with the ease-of-use and performance which has made CrashPlan a best-seller in the consumer space.
CrashPlan PRO is one of the first backup solutions designed specifically for the unique needs of SMBs, as many simply tack a few extra features onto what is essentially a consumer product. With CrashPlan PRO, all data is protected with 448-bit encryption before it ever leaves the computer, meaning even the most sensitive business data is safe and secure in the cloud. CrashPlan PRO also features cross-platform support for Windows, Mac, Linux and Solaris (both client and server), multiple destination support, unrivaled support for laptop backup, de-duplication, and comprehensive reporting.
There are two pricing plans available – unlimited storage per computer and an unlimited number of computers for a chosen amount of storage. The unlimited storage plan is available for $7.49 per month to back up a single computer with unlimited storage, and the unlimited computers plans range from 50GB to 4TB averaging less than $5/computer/month.
CrashPlan PRO is available immediately to customers in the United States and Canada. Worldwide availability expected is in fourth quarter of 2011.
The press release about the CrashPlan Pro can be found at the official CrashPlan Pro Blog.
