A Quick Comparison of America’s 3 Biggest 4G Mobile Broadband Providers

Once again, Verizon, T-Mobile, and Sprint continue to be the three biggest providers of mobile broadband in the United States. They get consistently high ratings by reviewers because of their large networks, competitive prices and fast network speeds.
Verizon Wireless
Verizon wireless holds the top spot for 4G mobile broadband network providers for many review sites. Because of its recent merger with Alltel, Verizon has the largest network coverage of all the providers. Also, Verizon is known for having simple pricing and a variety of rates, many of which are comparable to or cheaper than their competitors. In addition, online activities that would be considered violations of the terms of agreement by other providers, such as streaming movies or uploading, are allowed by Verizon. Their network is the most consistent of the competition, though the speed of the network tends to be second, by a narrow margin, to T-Mobile. Verizon has consistently high ratings in all areas overall, though T-Mobile and Sprint are not far behind.
T-Mobile
T-Mobile is the second largest 4G mobile broadband carrier in the United States. T-Mobile not only has great network coverage in the United States but also has some of the best coverage for international travelers. They offer low-priced hardware, such as free modems, with contract service as well as some of the highest quality smartphones. Unlike, Sprint and Verizon Wireless who only offer a 2 year contract, T-Mobile offer a month to month 4G mobile broadband deal.
Sprint
Sprint is another provider that ranks in the top three according to many reviewers. Like the competition, Sprint advertises the largest network, fastest speeds and competitive rates, including no activation fee. Sprint’s network speed is comparable to T-Mobile, but usually ranks a close second. Sprint is also the third largest provider in the United States. Although Sprint beats the competition in a few areas, its consistently poor customer service prevents it from taking the top spot on several sites. They also charge a $200 cancellation fee if the service is terminated before the end of the two year contract. Sprint also only offers one mobile broadband plan. However, though the rate of their 5GB mobile plan is the same as the competition, customers can save money when bundling the data plan with the Simply Everything Plan. The overage fees are also cheaper than the competition.
4G Mobile broadband technology has come a long way and continues to improve. All three of the top providers, Verizon, T-Mobile, and Sprint, rank so close in quality that any would be a good choice.
