Windows 8 on my Compaq Presario CQ42

Back to the end day of May, Microsoft unveiled the Windows 8 Release Preview to public. The build is the release candidate version before going to RTM (release to manufacture) that will be released on August 2012.

Comparing with the Consumer Preview, the Release Preview is much more stable though need more improvements. I installed the Windows 8 Release Preview 64-bit on my Compaq Presario CQ42-270TU dual-booting with Windows 7. All the device drivers are installed by default so I don’t need to download and install the drivers manually. Almost all the Metro apps run without problems. Looking at the stability and performance, I am sure that Microsoft is able to release the final version of Windows 8 on schedule (Oct 26th).

Here are some screenshots of Windows 8 Release Preview 64-bit running on my Compaq Presario CQ42-270TU.
