Bing, the Microsoft’s search engine to fight with Google, was bringing twitter search to you since October 21, 2009 to provide real-time search Twitter status update. It’s still in beta version.

Unlucky 13 updates plug multiple ‘zero-day’ holes, including one Microsoft had kept secret until now

Microsoft today delivered a record 13 security updates that patched 34 vulnerabilities in every version of Windows, including the not-yet-for-sale Windows 7, as well as in Internet Explorer (IE), Office, SQL Server and other parts of its software portfolio.

The 34 flaws were also a record number for Microsoft, the most holes patched in one sitting since Microsoft switched to a regular monthly update schedule six years ago. The closest competitor was December 2008, when the company quashed 28 bugs continue reading…

With the appearance of Windows 7’s Release to Manufacturing (RTM) build, Microsoft may be hoping that it can finally dismiss Windows Vista as an unsuccessful experiment that paved the way for something better.

The company is obviously hoping that Windows 7’s new and enhanced features will be enough to entice users back into the Microsoft fold and finally put Windows XP to rest. Microsoft has announced this afternoon thatWindows 7 has been released to manufacturing. In other words, Windows 7 development has wrapped up, and it’ll now go on to PC manufacturers so they can prepare for October’s Windows 7 launch.

According the the Windows 7 Team Blog, the RTM is build 7600. The public beta was build 7000, and the release candidate was build 7100. Microsoft has also announced that Windows Server 2008 R2 has also reached RTM status. continue reading…

Microsoft late on Monday denied that it has finished Windows 7, quashing rumors that the company was about to declare “release to manufacturing,” or RTM.

“We are close, but have not yet signed off on Windows 7,” said company spokesman Brandon LeBlanc on the Windows blog Monday night. “As previously stated, we expect Windows 7 to RTM in the 2nd half of July.” continue reading…
