For the last six months the Samsung Galaxy S2 has been known as the best smartphone available at the market, and no manufacturer has managed to create anything better, even Apple. But now it seems like a new phone is coming to replace it on the pedestal, and this new phone is manufactured by… well, again by Samsung, of course!

As you could have guessed, I’m speaking about the Samsung Galaxy Nexus born from the cooperation of Samsung and Google. It runs the latest version of Google’s platform – Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, has really powerful features and a cool big screen, so no wonder there are rumors that only after a week, on November 17, it’s coming to replace the Samsung Galaxy Nexus. The price of the phone is also known – it’ll cost 549 pounds in Amazon, but better offers are expected to come via mobile operators, so get ready to meet the best Samsung mobile phone deals very soon.

I guess all the major specs and features of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus are already known: it has a big 4.65-inch Super AMOLED display the resolution of which is 1280×720. Behind the hood it hides a powerful 1.2Ghz Cortex-A9 processor and TI OMAP 4460 chipset, a 5MP camera (hey, but don’t think it’s a too weak one – it takes 2592×1936 photos and records 1080p@30pfs videos!) and of course all those connectivity features that can be found in all modern smartphones (that is Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, 3G and even NFC).

As for the software, Android Ice Cream Sandwich comes with a number of new and very cool features like Face Unlock (they say the phone can recognize your face and unlock), voice typing and many others. Since the Galaxy Nexus is the first phone to run this new OS, we’re all waiting for it impatiently to test all these new features.

The only sad news is – November 17 is the release date of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus in Europe, and no one knows when the phone will come to other regions. But we hope that other countries will soon get this new smartphone from the famous Galaxy line very soon, too.
