Indonesia’s Indosat launched Sony Ericsson Xperia X10, the first in the world!
So, it’s not DOCOMO or Rogers that becomes the first operator in the world to launch the first Sony Ericsson’s Android handset, Xperia X10. It’s Indonesia’s operator Indosat that will be the first to offer X10 on March 3-7 during Indosat Android Expo.

The pre-order price is IDR 6.5 million (around US$695), with regular price (after the pre-order period, which starting on Feb 22 to 28) at IDR 7 million (almost US$750). Bonuses include leather case, screen protector, and phone stand.
X10 will also be offered with Google Mobile Service. It’s said that Indosat will unveil its own Indosat Application Store to accompany Android Market, yet it’s not clear whether only load Android apps or also available for other platforms (like BlackBerry).
X10 is a beast sporting 1GHz Snapdragon processor, large 4 inch touchscreen display (800*480 pixels resolution), and 8.1 megapixels camera. The initial product will be powered by OS 1.6 Donut, but it’s expected to have OS 2.x update by March or April.

I think the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 is a really great phone, even with Android 1.6, but I am really looking forward to Android 2.1 and Multitouch, as the X10 will be awesome then.

Agree with you.
Thankfully they will release minor and major updates later this year.
One of them is upgrading to Android 2.1 but not sure about the multi-touch feature.
