How to install Opera Browser in Linux (Slackware 13.1)

Opera is claimed as the fastest web browser on earth even some benchmarks show that it is beaten by Google Chrome. It is OK. We will not talk about browser benchmarking here.

In this tutorial I want to show you how to install Opera Browser 10.60 on Linux (in this case I use Slackware 13.1).

Below are the steps:

Go to Opera Download Website http://www.opera.com/browser/download/
Select “Slackware” as the distribution and choose the ‘tar.gz’ package format as pictured above.
Select the download location nearest to you. Then click ‘Download Opera’ button/link.

2. Extract the file and begin installation
After the file has been successfully downloaded, now extract the file and begin the installation.
