Smartfren USB Modem on Mac OS X Lion 10.7.2

In a previous post I wrote about installing Smartfren USB Modem AC682 on Windows 7 / Windows 8. Now it is the time to install it on my MacBook Pro running Mac OS X Lion 10.7.2.

It is very easy to install the modem on Apple’s Mac OS X operating system because, according to the specification requirement, the Mac OS X from version 10.5.x until 10.7.x is supported by the Smartfren USB Modem AC682. That’s said, if your Mac computers running Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard), 10.6 (Snow Leopard) and 10.7 (Lion) you can easily install the modem to run on your Mac.

The step is simple and easy. Once you plug the modem in to the USB port, it will be detected as a USB storage which contain software package and drivers need to be installed. See image below!

Double-click the ‘Smartfren connex UI 1.11‘ file to start the installation. Simply just follow the on-screen steps to complete the installation. Once it’s completed, double-click the ‘Smartfren Connex UI‘ icon on the desktop to launch the dialer.

Go to ‘CONNECTION’ section and click ‘Connect’ button. The button will automatically change to ‘Disconnect’ when the status is connected.

Now you are ready to surf to internet using Smartfren USB Modem AC682 on your Mac OS Lion 10.7.2
