In my previous post I had shown you how to install Wine on Mac OS X 10.7 Lion and 10.8 Mountain Lion. As a Mikrotik router administrator and a Mac OS X user, able to run Mikrotik Winbox on Mac OS X Lion is a must even though I can still use ssh or telnet to remote Mikrotik routers. However, accessing Mikrotik via Winbox is much easier than via ssh or telnet.
This article shows you how easy it is running Mikrotik Winbox on Mac OS X, in this case I use Mac OS X Lion 10.7.2. It should work on Snow Leopard, Leopard, Tiger and the latest OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion.
1. Install the Wine first. You can follow my previous tutorial on how to install Wine on Mac OS X.
2. Download Winbox application from Mikrotik website.
3. Once it is download, run the Winbox via wine as follow:
$ wine /path/to/winbox.exe
If no error, the Winbox application should run successfully on Mac OS X as the image below:
