How To Wipe BlackBerry Curve 3G 9300

Wiping a BlackBerry device is a method to delete either all the data, files and applications on the device and it will be back to factory default.

If you are experiencing unstable operations, performance issues or want to sell the device you need to wipe your device to factory default. In case you will sell it, I’m sure you want to remove all your personal informations and data before selling it.

NOTE: Wiping your device will erase all data, files and applications so make sure to back up them before wiping your device.

I just purchased a new BlackBerry Curve 9360 Apollo so my old BlackBerry Curve 9300 3G will be sold to others. Before I sell it, I have to wipe the device.

Here is the step how to wipe BlackBerry Curve 9300 3G running BlackBerry OS 6.0

1. Click Options from the Home Screen

2. Click Security (Password, encryption, firewall)

3. Go to Security Wipe (Delete data, files or applications)

4. Select Data for wiping:

Emails, Contacts,  etc. All application data will be lost. You will not be able to send or receive email on this device after you wipe it.

User Installed Applications. All applications that you have loaded will be removed from your device.

Media Card. Check this if you want to delete all data or files stored in Media card.

Type ‘blackberry‘ without the quote in the Confirmation to confirm wipe and end by hitting the Wipe Data button.

The wiping process will be started. It may takes several minutes depending on how many data you have in the device. Once it is complete, the device will automatically restart.
