HP MediaSmart Webcam is a management tool for HP Webcam device installed in any HP Laptop/Computer. You can take your pictures, record videos using this software. Using this tool you can easily upload your recorded videos or images to Youtube, Facebook, Flickr and others. I use this software for my Compaq Presario CQ42-270TU and it works great.

UPDATE: A new version, HP MediaSmart Webcam 4.2.3303, is available. You can find the download link here.

Fix/Enhancement on version 4.1.2.3123:

- Adds a feature where webcam captured contents are automatically imported and shown in the library of HP MediaSmart Photo and Video applications.
- Enables users to upload recorded videos to Facebook.
- Enables users to upload recorded photos to Flickr.
- Enables users to create new avatars (pick hair, eyes, mouth, and gadgets to customize a new avatar).
- Adds support for high-definition webcams.

    Hi please give us more details about your notebook type and operating system. In the ‘Device Manager’, can you see Imaging devices/Camera or whatever it is that device is working properly?

    hi! i downloaded this media smart webcam but everytime i open the application it says “NO webcam detected.Try plugging in a webcam into your computer now. If you are using an integrated camera, make sure that it is turned on.” Please help me to fix this. Hope you will be the one who can help me out of this… THanKS..

    Great application. It installed perfectly well on my Pavilion dv-7. For easy access, just create a shortcut on your desktop.

    You can open it from Start > All Programs > HP > HP MediaSmart > HP MediaSmart Webcam

    The files located in My Documents/Webcam or My Pictures/Webcam. The easiest way to open it is by just right click the snapshot picture directly from the HP Mediasmart and then click ‘Locate File on Disk’
