OpenIndiana is a distribution of Opensolaris, built by the community and for the community. It is basically the successor of Opensolaris after Oracle terminated the Opensolaris Project. The main goal of it is to be a binary and package compatible with Oracle Solaris 11 and Solaris 11 Express with an open development model and full community participation.
Oracle Solaris Studio Express 6/10 had been officially released by Oracle for Solaris 10 (SPARC, x86), OEL 5 (x86), RHEL 5 (x86), SuSE 11 (x86) and will be available for OpenSolaris in the near future.
Oracle Solaris Studio Express 6/10 (previously known as Sun Studio Express) is available on Solaris 10 (SPARC, x86), OEL 5 (x86), RHEL 5 (x86), SuSE 11 (x86) and will be available for OpenSolaris in the near future.
For the x64 platform you need to modify some settings in the /etc/sysctl.conf file and also the memory swap space.
I have 2GB RAM and set the swap memory to 2GB also, but in the installation stage the expected swap space is 3GB
