I set my L2TP-VPN up and it worked fine for about 2 months until today. It told me that my vpn password was expired and told me to enter a new one. I entered a new one but when I tried to sign in with it, I am told that authentication failed. I tried entering the old one back in there and still getting the same message about authentication failing. Can someone please tell me what is going on here and why the password would have expired in the first place? Also does anyone know how to reset the vpn password? Thanks

I'm not sorry to disappoint you :-( I did get the issue resolved though by installing rEFIt prior to installing Mint. I noticed from trying out Bootcamp that it wouldn't boot from a Windows 7 USB and I had to make a DVD instead, so I wondered if I tried installing Mint via DVD then I wouldn't have to use rEFIt first.

When you boot up your Mac, do you get some kind of grub bootloader, or have you tried holding the Option key while booting without the USB inserted? [By the way, is this the same David Murray as known as the 8BitGuy? Just Curious :-) ]

Hi, I have followed all the instructions and it works so long as I have the Mint Live USB attached when I boot up the Mac, otherwise the Mac books straight into OSX. This is despite the fact that I installed Mint to the hard disk and made the efibootmgr modification. :-( Is it necessary always to keep the Linux live boot USB in the Mac?
