LibreOffice is a productivity suite that is compatible with other major office suites, and available on a variety of platforms. It is free software and therefore free to download, use and distribute. This tutorial will show you how to install LibreOffice, at the time of this writing is version 3.3.0 Beta2, on Slackware 13.1 running on 32-bit architecture. It should be applicable on any version of Slackware.

How to Install OpenOffice 3.2.1 on Slackware 13.1

This tutorial will show you how to install OpenOffice 3.2.1 on Slackware 13.1. Basically the OpenOffice installation files are in RPM or Debian format and not in Slackware packages format except you build it using Slackbuild. I choose to use RPM files and convert it to .tgz file using rpm2tgz tool. Tgz is the Slackware package file format.

Install Slackware 13.1 on Compaq Presario CQ42-270TU Notebook

I just bought a new notebook, a brand new Compaq Presario CQ42-270TU, without any operating system installed, just a default FreeDOS. It is definitely a notebook with Intel® Core™ i5-450M Processor (2.40 GHz, Cache 3 MB) , 2 GB DDR3 SODIMM PC-10600, and Intel GMA 4500M manufactured by HP in around July and August 2010.
